Description |
We assist in the Food Market of the People's Resource Center. The Food Market is where underpriviledged families receive groceries. It is set up like a grocery store and the clients can "shop" for their food. We sort food, stock shelves, and assist clients with selecting their items.
Please dress comfortably and casually. Jeans and gym shoes are fine. It can get a little cold in the food pantry in the winter, so please dress accordingly.
Please do not park in the parking lot directly outside of the building. Street parking is available.

PRC will be receiving A LOT of donations from the post officer carriers during their Stamp Out Hunger Campaign, and they need our help unloading the trucks and stocking the shelves! |

We will be taking the HeartSaver's class from the Park Ridge Fire Department. This is a class from the American Safety & Health Institute.
This is the First Aid portion. The CPR portion will be on May 22nd.

Description |
The Northern Illinois Food Bank collects and distributes food to various organizations in the northwest suburbs that then distribute food to needy families. We perform a variety of tasks at the food bank, such as cleaning the outside of various food products prior to packaging them and sorting products into categories.
We'd love to have 10-15 volunteers for this project. We will be working in a warehouse environment, so dress appropriately - in layers when it is cold, long pants, and closed toed shoes (no sandals or heels) with a rubber sole.
If you've never volunteered before at the Northern Illinois Food Bank, please show up 15 minutes early so you can hear their presentation on the organization.
