SCARCE (School and Community Assistance for Recycling & Composting Education) is dedicated to educating people to conserve natural resources and energy, prevent pollution, reduce waste, recycle, and compost organic materials. Through that endeavor, they have established the Book Rescue Center and the Tools For Schools programs to rescue books and other educationally-related materials and provide them to those in need.

Dress: This is similar to a warehouse facility so dress in comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty. In cooler months you might want to wear a sweatshirt until you get moving and the facility warms up. |

Come read with us at the Schaumburg Library. We'd like 2 volunteers for this project.
Reading in the Enchanted Forest, which is on the left wall as you walk into the Children's Area. Pick up the books at the reference desk in the middle of the area.
Try to get there 5-10 minutes early to make sure you have enough time to get the books and get situated. Thanks! |

This month the book theme was Halloween and Apples. We had about 20 kids there and it was a great group with lots of interaction. It was great fun! |
