Car Seat Project with Carol Stream Police Department
Event Date / Time
9/24/22 (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
We are partnering with Carol Stream Police Department during Safety Saturday, a state-wide car seat check event!
About the event: Child passenger safety technicians will be at car seat check locations checking that children are in the correct car seats and that they are installed correctly. All families are welcomed to come out to the event.
eKiwanis will be donating car seats for the Carol Stream Police Department's Safety Saturday. The car seats will be given to kids who are in need of replacement car seats. Safety technicians will be installing the car seats at the event
We will be at the event passing out snack baggies for the kids. The snack bags will be branded with eKiwanis and will include a flyer about eK for the parents.
Come to this in person meeting to celebrate our club accomplishments from the year!
We will be having a buffet of stuffed potato skins, spinach & artichoke dip, buffalo style spicy wings, grilled chicken sandwiches, corned beef sliders, cheeseburger sliders, freshly tossed salad, soft drinks, coffee/tea, and a cash bar.
Mothers of a child under one year of age or expectant mothers who are at least seven months pregnant can come to Breakfast with Baby at The Salvation Army in Des Plaines. Once a month they are served a hot breakfast, receive encouragement from the Bible and from conversations with volunteers. They form friendships with each other while eating together and talking about their kids. But most importantly, they receive a free package of diapers and baby wipes for each eligible child.
Donations of diapers, wipes, gently-used or new clothing, books, toys, and other large baby items such as strollers, cribs, exersaucers, bouncy seats, etc. are needed to aid these families each month.
Volunteers are needed to help sort the baby items, and to help set up the "store" once a month.
Pickup the Baby Shower donations from the dropoff locations around Des Plaines.
