| Event Description | We assist in the Food Market of the People's Resource Center. The Food Market is where underpriviledged families receive groceries. It is set up like a grocery store and the clients can "shop" for their food. We sort food, stock shelves, and assist clients with selecting their items. Please dress comfortably and casually. Jeans and gym shoes are fine. It can get a little cold in the food pantry in the winter, so please dress accordingly. Please do not park in the parking lot directly outside of the building. | Additional Description | Please sign up on database ASAP. They do this food market every 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Saturday of each month, so we can do this monthly or every other month, if we like it. She said they need the most help on the 3rd Saturdays. *Fill out a volunteer form online at: http://www.peoplesrc.org/Volunteers Project Highlights: We were the "Queens o all Trades!" We did everything from: fill boxes with food, sorting food, putting food out on the shelves, packaging rice & candy, and doing paperwork for the clients!!! |
