We had a headstart child, between the ages 3-5 years old, and went shopping with him/her for their families and themselves. The project was at the Wal-Mart in Elk Grove and there were more than 300's of kids and volunteers. Excellent project!!!!
We make dinner for the women and children staying at this shelter and play with the kids. This is a very powerful project to attend.
We made tacos, nachos, fresh fruit, and cookies for the children and their mothers. We also read christmas stories, made Christmas crafts and gave them Christmas gifts. The mothers were very appreciative of the gitfs we gave them and some remembered us from the Halloween Party!
Come sing Christmas Carols and ring bells to raise money for the Salvation Army.
Help collecting donations for the Salvation Army. We will be doing bell ringing and singing at the Marshall's Fields downtown. (It will take place at the entrace door that is at the intersection of State and Washington). More details to come.
Activity Highlights: We think they did fine with this!
Reading at Schaumburg Library
Event Date / Time
12/18/04 (11:00 AM - 11:30 AM)
Come read with us at the Schaumburg Library. We'd like 2 volunteers for this project.
Reading in the Enchanted Forest, which is on the left wall as you walk into the Children's Area. Pick up the books at the reference desk in the middle of the area.
Try to get there 5-10 minutes early to make sure you have enough time to get the books and get situated. Thanks!
Project Highlights: We read books about snow, bears snoring, and long-nosed pigs! There were about 5 children listening to the stories.
